Vizcaya Museum Love Story | Jerry + Veira

A wedding in the historic Vizcaya Museum, a destination wedding location for numerous couples worldwide. The Museum is a beautiful wedding location surrounded by its beautiful garden, classic statues, and architecture. The Museum garden atmosphere is full of romanticism, hence why it's chosen for wedding proposals and wedding photography. Vizcaya Museum is one of the most beautiful venues in Miami and all of Florida.

Veira is one of them many Puerto Rican that had to emigrate after Hurricane María hit Puerto Rico in 2017. In this case, Veira moves to Miami, where she meets Jerry. Jerry is a second-generation Cuban that emigrates from La Habana to the United States, looking for better opportunities and life for their family. 

When the Covid-19 arrived in our life, meeting people apps became more famous for finding the perfect couple. Veira and Jerry weren't the exceptions. One curious thing about them is that their workplace is close to each other; it is clear that Veira & Jerry were on the same page on so many critical things: values, career aspirations, future plans, and commitment. 

The main thing about this relationship is how chaos can make beautiful things happen in our life. In this case, if it wasn't because of the Hurricane María chaos, Veira would probably still live in Puerto Rico. On the other hand, if it wasn't because of the Covid-19 Veira & Jerry likely wouldn't open an account in the app they finally found each other. 

I simply love working with this lovely couple; they're funny, charismatic, and photogenic. When around the Vizcaya garden looking for the perfect spots for them, it was hard because every corner of the Museum is a beautiful backdrop.   

Every time I travel to shoot a destination wedding outside Puerto Rico, we are happy to meet new people and traditions utterly different from our culture. This time it was like to be at home, in our region, Puerto Rico. I felt part of the guests. I loved photographing Vizcaya and Veira Jerry's wedding day and captured their emotions.
